Ahhh..the life of having a newborn in the house...
JM has been amazing this weekend. Friday night we met my parents for supper and dinked around Wal-Mart and made it home around 9:30. Friday night wasn't too bad, I guess. We had fed her at Wal-Mart around 8ish so that would make her ready again around 10:30ish. This is pretty normal give or take 30 minutes. I thought, PERFECT, we aren't off our "schedule". So I wait up to feed her and then put us both to bed. She woke up around 1:30ish and went back to sleep fairly easy. However, 3:30 rolls around and she was awak and nursed a little bit but not much. I didn't think to much of it - just that she was still kind of full from the last time. Oh no...we were up every hour after that until about 6. The past week she gets up at 1:30-2 ish and then up at 5 for the day. When that happens we send Daddy off to work and then take our morning cat nap while watching the news. Not this weekend! She finally went back to sleep around 6 and was back up at 8. So we went to snuggle with JM but only succeeded in waking him up. Oops!
Sometime that day JM was changing a poopy diaper, which is an entire other story in itself. Anyways.. I hear him say "maaaaal" in a little bit of a distraught voice. I walked in to find him cleaning up after an experience with projectile poop. hahaha. She tends to be very gasy and occasionaly (ok not occasionally - more often than not) lets a little loose when she gets ride of some air. Well he had went in to change her b/c she was wet and had been working on a "good diaper". He had just taken away the old diaper and had wiped her off when he heard her grunt. He was quick enough to grab a diaper wipe and just about had it over her when she let loose. Some did end up on the diaper wipe, but some did end up on his arm and on the floor. Hahahaha.. it's still just sssooo funny!
On Saturday we spent the day around the house watching Samee and enjoying each other's company. Saturday evening Jim (JM's dad) brough over a meatloaf and potatoes. It was yummy! That night was not so fun. She slept GREAT until the early morning. *sigh* I know she's still really young and we're probably lucky that she's sleeping that great earlier in the night but it's getting harder every night. At some point in the early a.m. JM got up and took her up to the front room. I think I slept until 8 or 9 and it was GREAT. I woke up to a kiss this morning and not a fussy baby girl. Ahhh...the simple things in life.
We spent the morning at home. Sam was pretty fussy off and on this morning. She started having milk come up her nose again. The Doctor had originally told us it was b/c we were feeding her too much. That isn't the case, I don't think. It doesn't seem like there is anything consistent with the circumstances around her doing it. Before today, she hadn't done if for a couple of days. It's really horrible. She gets choked, and then gasps for air, the milk comes out, she sneezes off and on for awhile, and usually gets the hiccups. It almsot seems like it happens when she's straining hard to fill her diaper. I don't know if by straining she's pushing up the milk from her stomach?? I would much rather have it come out her mouth though!
Also this morning, JM was changing her for a wet diaper for the 2nd time in a short amount of time. He had just gotten the old diaper off (sound familiar) and she started to pee all over the table! She had done this once before to mom and me. Quite the weekend for diaper changing!
This afternoon we drove up to Chrisman to see Aunt Joy and Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Ben. While we were in town we also stopped by Shelley Good's house (a family friend). Everyone ooo'd and aww'd over her. The best part was when we were at the Ben & Bonnie's though. Sam was all wide-eyed and so happy! She was sat with Grandma Bonnie for almost an hour. Grandpa Ben got in on some of the action and got to hold her too. The Frost Top was open so we ran up there and got cheeseburgers for everybody while Bonnie held Sam. I couldn't resist getting their rootbeer floats...mmmmmmm.
This evening has been pretty calm. Grandma and Grandpa Keach stopped by with Marisa. They had been in Terre Haute shopping for Marisa's birthday. They also brought me my birthday gift- a very pretty necklace that has the child pendant from it that has the march birthstone as it's dress. Sam seems to be on her normal night schedule. Since it's almost 8:30 it's time to start getting ready for bed. She already has her sleepsac on from an earlier diaper change. She should want to nurse here in a little bit and I think she's actually started to wake up a little bit. Good night to all!
