Some updates - 4th of July

I began thinking the other day, "Man, it's been awhile since I've posted anything".

Summer is gone and I haven't wrote a thing.  You would think that I have been busy, but I don't really feel like it.

4th of July Weekend = Craziness
Thursday: I skipped my dentist appointment to go home.  I know, what a hard decision right?  It was the night of the 4-H auction and I hadn't even been to the Jasper County Fair all week so Samee Jo and I packed up and headed down around noon.  After her nap the entire family (minus JM, who was working) headed into town.  Samee did really great.  She played in the bleachers for a long time.  She became antsy so I got her a piece of watermelon that was being given out.  She chowed down on it and of course Papo (Dad's dad) just thought it was so cute.  She was a mess, but its the fair!...and she was having fun.  Soon enough the fun of mutilated and sucking on the watermelon ended and she needed to run.  The 4-H people made a corn box.  Basically it was a large square box that they built with high enough sides the little inmates couldn't escape and it was filled with corn. Samee Jo LOVED it and even played with another little girl.  Soon though, she figured out it was fun to put in her mouth (she observed the other little girl doing it) so out she came.  It was pretty warm with little breeze so I then took her into the 4-H building that holds the projects, concession stand, and restrooms.  She ran around like a MAD woman.  Becca Hartrich was in there and chased her around a little bit while Mr. Z talked with me for awhile.  Soon Becca and I had a chance to catch up a little bit, but not long enough b/c the Samee was tired of the scenery.  Marisa's chickens ended up selling for $110 and we ended up staying for the entire auction b/c Dad thought he might buy a hog....but he didn't.  We then headed for Joe's....mmmmmmm.  On the way there, Dad and I (Mom and Marisa drove seperate) followed Aunt Barb and Uncle Galen and sure enough they went to Joe's too.  We all sat together and had a great meal.

Friday:
Marisa headed home earlier in the day and it was a day spent relaxing.  At this point, it has been so long I can't quite remember what happened.  We may have had supper at the house and Papo might have came over.  Our other computer is down and out for the time being so I can't check picture dates.
Saturday:  Mom and I headed into town to meet Grandma Keach and go to Samee Jo's first horse race.  She had a ball.  The grandstands weren't very full so we were able to spread out and let Samee Jo play.  Mom had mini-m'n'm's which Samee LOVED.  She was pretty interested in following the horses around the tracks and seemed to really enjoy herself.  We left around lunch b/c of the heat and to go eat at the bowling alley.  After a nice girl-time lunch Samee Jo and I headed home.  That night and Sunday we spent in at Aunt Joy's because most of the family (minus Dixie's crew) were there.  It was a good time and we had a lot of fun.  Samee took her 4-wheeler in to play on but was still a little apprehensive of it.  She showed off all she could and took a lot of walks with Aunt Debbie.

On Monday, the 4th, my mom and dad came up and we all headed over to Paris to see the fireworks.  I was prepared for Samee Jo to have a freakout over the loud booms, but she loved it.  She wrestled with her Daddy on the blanket and snuggled in her with her Grandpa to watch some of the fireworks.  At other points she laid on the blanket with us.  However, at one point she was done with sitting still and was running around the grass and being her normal crazy self.  However, her Grandpa was able to reel her back in with his smarties.  Dad can get her to do just about anything with those Smarties. hahahaha

4th of July weekend was a lot of traveling and a lot of visiting with family but I LOVE those weekends.  Memories I will alway cherish.
