Samantha's New Tricks

I guess there are quite a few since I last blogged in June but some of the ones that come to mind are

Climbing: If she can get a foothold in it, she will attempt to scale it.  It first started off in small victories like the couch or her horse.  However, it has now evolved into me removing her from the dining room table at least twice a day.  She's also a problem solver.  She will stack the diapers (still in the plastic so they are solid rectangles) so that she can reach the top of her diaper changing table.  She has a music table from Christmas that she stands on top of.  The side table by the couch is good fun and she has eyeballed the built in shelves next to it.

Jumping on the bed:  She is just too cute when she does it, because she tries to just pick her feet up really fast and let her butt fall.  Every 4th or 5th try results in a perfect fall but others she doesn't always land on her butt.  She thinks it is good fun.
When Daddy gets home she follows him into our bedroom and stands on the bed while he changes.  She waits for him to push her over (we have a water bed so this is extra fun).  Most times he just makes the motion and she falls.... and of course giggles uncontrollably.

Feeding Babies:  This week she has started to feed her babies Samee Jo snacks.  One baby was forced to eat strawberries.  I think it's lips will be forever red.  Her Aunt Elaine sent home an antique baby high chair.  Samee fits into it, but can't put the tray down.  She loves to put her babies in it and is getting very interested in playing with babies.  Samee Jo thought it would be very fun to feed me her snacks the other day and was very distressed when I didn't want anymore strawberries.... Sorry kid, I'm full!

Breakfast:  The kiddo loves pancakes and is now up to eating almost TWO.  The Schwan man started stopping by so I have purchased their microwave ones. yummy!

New sound:  The past month she has finally started saying "mamama" again.  And she has started saying "neener neener neener" or other variations of it.  When she's in the mood she will really listen and watch you say a word.  She kind of mimics the sound or pattern of the syllables, but still really has no intention of talking.  She will when she wants - has been our mantra.  There really hasn't been a lack of communication though.  It's not like she walks around and caveman grunts.  She motions and gibbers and is very expressive.

Helping around the house:  Samee Jo loves the broom.  A lot of days she sweeps the living room (which is carpet).  She also bangs the broom on the kitchen floor which just releases every piece of dirt that the broom has ever swept up.  Samee Jo also has a soft spot for the vacuum and I usually let her help me.  She stands in front of me and puts her hand on the handle to push it forward and when I back up she has to make me stop and get in front and push it towards me. I'm not sure how effective of vacuuming this is, but we enjoy it.

Chase:  Oh what a fun game... and she is FAST!  She really enjoys the game when you're close to getting her otherwise it isn't much fun.

Drawing:  She has become quite the "artist" and really enjoys doodling.  I finally found larger sized crayons and I found markers that only put color on the special paper.  AWESOME product for messing 1 1/2 year olds.
