FFA Week

Just to give a little insight on how CRAZY FFA Week was - here was our schedule:

Monday:
Dress in Carhart and Camo
Barnyard all day in the shop.  It went excellent and was pretty stress free.  The little kids loved all the baby animals.

Tuesday:
Dress in your favorite tractor color or wear your favorite truck brand

Kiddie Tractor Pull - Luckily I have fantastic kids and didn't have much to do with it.  I had 4 high school kids running the pedal-tractor pull in the old gym.  It went really well.  The little kids LOVE the tractor pull and you could hear them down the hallways cheering on their classmates.
Truck Contest - There were 9 different classes and a lot of kids drove in trucks.  It was the 1st time we had done this and it went OK.
We were supposed to have a huge meeting with parents, students, and alumni members with two state officers.  Sad news was that we had to cancel it because of the regional game that was going on.  We'll try again next year I guess

Wednesday:
Dress in Duct tape or trashbags - the weirdest dress up day ever, but the kids love to plaster themselves with duct tape so... rock on .. I guess...
The varisty officer team did leadership games with the high school P.E. classes.  Everybody had a lot of fun.

Thursday: the BIG day
Dress like a farmer or cowboy
Ag in the Gym.  We had 5 stations set up for kids to rotate through.  They were able to make ice cream in a bag, soybean crayons, corn plastic, jeopardy, and a nutrition station where they ate apples and learned about sunscreen.  It was an all day event and I definitely had to remind myself to SIT DOWN.

Friday:
Blue & Gold Day - members dressed in official dress or their FFA t-shirts
We had the teacher appreciation lunch this year, where in the years past we usually do breakfast.  Lunch was fantastic and the teachers loved it.
We had the first ever Teachers vs Students Dodgeball game.  The teachers called themselves the detentionators and had a GREAT time.  The entire school came down to watch.  I think we might have started a tradition!

I look back at it in writing and it doesn't seem too crazy - but it was.  The kids did a great job and took on a lot of responsibility.  It is really touching how much they look out for me me.  They don't let me carry ANYTHING - it could be an empty box and I get scolded and the box taken away.  Too cute!  I had one student tell me on Friday that he was not prepared for 6 weeks without me and with a sub teacher.  I told him he didnt' have too long to "prepare" himself.  He just hung his head and said " I know Mrs. Jenness... I know".  Too cute, once again!

FFA Week Photo Highlights:

Llamas

Almost 2 week old Lamb - It is being kept in the house to help with feedings so it wears a diaper.

This is part kind of a long view of the shop.  After the big cattle gates were chickens, baby goats, and a piglet.

One of the stations from Ag-In-The-Gym:.  They are holding up their little cups of ice cream that they just made by shaking up the milk recipe in a bag surrounded by ice.

The DETENTIONATORS

They had a blast and I thank them so much for being such great sports!
