This past weekend we headed down to my parent's house on Friday evening. During the day on Friday I and two of my FFA members helped put on a little segment during the Conservation Day for Edgar County. We were done a little early so I was able to go home after I dropped the kiddo's off, which meant I was able to my Samee a little earlier. When Samee and I arrived home I packed up clothes and a few baby items and waited on JM to come home. Samantha slept for most of the way down which was from 6-7. When we got to Mom and Dad's I fed Samee her supper and then we headed down to our cousin's house (Stephanie & Jason's). Steph was having a garage sale the next day so we were able to shop early and bring home two bags of 6-9 month winter-ish clothes. Back at Mom's, I gave Samantha her bath hoping that that would signal bedtime to her. WRONG. She didn't fall asleep until 10 but went down without too much of a fight. Saturday she was up at 5:30 but slept through the night, so I guess I won't complain. However, I will mention that during the week I have to WAKE HER UP at 6:30 so I can get her ready for Aunt Joy. Anyways.. Saturday JM went into work for a little bit in the morning but was home around 9-ish. He headed over to the farm to help Dad by leveling out one of the bins. When he came back, I had put Samantha down for her morning nap so we headed over to the bottoms to look at our deer plots. Man!, do they look fantastic!! The little corn patch we have looks like an army has walked through it. Our wheat ended up getting enough rain to start coming up, so that was a great find too. When we came back, Samantha was still asleep and lunch was about ready. We waited until it was completely ready and then waited some more and she still didn't wake up! When we finally couldn't wait any longer, I went in to wake her up and she had just propped herself up on her hands and was smiling at me with sleepy eyes. Perfect timing!! Samantha ate her lunch in her bumbo in the back of the blazer while we ate our pork burgers and watched her. JM took off in one of the tractors with some waggons, Mom took Papo up to the shed for another set of wagons, and Samantha and I headed off with Dad in the combine.

Yes, I can use my Nubby cup on my own.

It's good fun!

Making sure the door is down.
Ok. So maybe I needed a little help.

| Samantha eating her harvest lunch too! |

| Whoa...were is that corn going? |
 |
| Can I touch it? |
 |
| "That's what corn looks like!" Dad |
 |
| Oops..too close to the camera. |
 |
| A serious conversation. |
 |
| Sam was ready for the picture. Dad was trying to get his shirt out from underneath her. |
 |
| Samantha had a great 1st combine ride! |
Dad and JM worked all day on Saturday while the girls ran down to Olney for the Arts & Crafts show.
Check out Samantha's new hat!
 |
| It does appear that a pacifier is in her mouth, but don't let that fool you. It's barely in there and it is in route to being flipped around as she chews on the purple part. |
That evening the boys quit earlier and we had a little weenie roast. Samantha had fallen asleep at 10 till 6 so I decided not to wake her. She hadn't taken a decent nap all day and only had 7 and 1/2 hours of sleep Friday night so I figured she was making up for lost sleep. NOT! About an hour and 15 minutes later, which coincidentally happened to be right before we ate, Samantha wakes up, rejuvenated. Uh oh. I guess she wanted to join the weenie roast too!

| Goofin' with Aunt Marisa earlier in the day. |
 |
| Be carefull - I just ate! |

New hat AND a new bow!
Samee Jo loves being outside at weenie roasts. |
Soon the wind picked up and we headed inside. Samantha would NOT give in to sleep, so I ended up taking her down to the camper in hopes that the dark and quiet would help. It didn't really. We just had to ride the fussiness out. She was SO tired. She has also, in the past few days, started a new thing. When she nurses before bed she becomes a little frustrated. Nurses, pulls away, nurses, falls alseep, wakes up, pulls away. She wants to nurse, but she wants to fall asleep. One thing is getting in the way of the other and she doesn't know how to handle it. I just get up and bounce her a little as I walk and she (within 30 seconds, usually) falls asleep. *Sigh* I think she's growing up. She didn't end up doing this though Saturday night. Well, at the end she did, but there was about 20-30 minutes of nurse and cry and walk, nurse and cry and walk....
That night she was up at least 4 times. However, I expected it a little bit because when she goes down mad, she usually doesn't sleep well. Sunday though, she was up at 5:30-6:00 ish. We made it up to the house around 7, ate breakfast, and headed off to church. It was a great service, like always. The music was great the message was great, it was all just good for the soul.
For lunch Mom and I made chili and 2 apple pies. The weather was PERFECT for chili!! We headed home around three and it seemed like the evening flew by.
I never thought I could be a stay-at-home Mom but I know now that I most definitely could. I could literally spend every minute with her and never realize the world passing us by outside.
