Friday night started off pretty yucky. I had thought about running over to Oakland to our Tri-County Titan football game. Then realized it started at 7 and then I realized that Samantha is asleep around then and I don't like dealing with her crankiness when she doesn't go to sleep at her normal time. We decided to stay in.
I fell asleep around 9 and awoke a little over an hour later to a screaming Samantha. I stumbled down there and tried to bounce/walk her to back to sleep. Think again, Momma. I tried to nurse her and that's when she started her "something's wrong" scream that she used to do with her upset stomach-aches when she was a few months old. When I sat her up on my lap, up came supper, through her nose. Yes, through her nose. Poor thing couldn't decide if she wanted to scream through her mouth or breathe, because she sure as heck wasn't going to do either through her nose. It was down the front of me and her, her eyes were watering, and I was trying to figure out how to get the clothes off of her without laying her down again.
As a side note, I'm really tired of stuff coming up and out of her nose. And what I am even more tired of is Dr. Ioffe saying oh it's fine or it is because she is so young and not developed. Well, that was months ago -what's the excuse now? Another side note - that's another reason we won't be seeing Dr. Ioffe anymore.
ANYWAYS... I went in to our room to get JM to help me. He stayed up for a little bit so I could change her pj's and my shirt. I decided to stay up with her and keep her in a reclining position to help with keeping everything down. Samantha and I watched about 3 episodes of the Nanny in the recliner while her stomach gurgled and made "ucky" noises. She finally went back to sleep at 1:00 and was up at about 6:30. Not a lot of sleep for me! ... but hey, what's new? =)
We headed out to the game kind of late and gave Samantha to Uncle Paul & Aunt Kay around 10. This put us in a traffic jam for about 1/2 hour and we didn't get to our seats until right at kick off. Oh well, we didn't miss too much. We ended up staying the entire game because the Illini played SO WELL!! We were kind of expecting to leave at half time.
We picked Samantha up, stopped by our house to get some clothes and then left for my parents'. JM wanted to hunt Sunday morning and evening. We arrived at Mom & Dad's around 5:30. JM and Dad went for a drive to scope deer while Mom and I stayed at the house and played with Samantha. Samantha threw up sour milk while I was trying to feed her supper. And guess what, it didn't come out of her mouth? Imagine that! You could just tell she had a "sour stomach".
After I put Samantha to sleep, JM and I headed to town to pick up the pizza and get his deer tags. While in town, I picked up the stuff to make pumpkin pies which mom started as soon as we got back. We all fell asleep with the smell of pumpkin pie in the house. mmmmmmm. Samantha woke up several times and finally I left her in the pack 'n' play in hopes she would just fuss herself back to sleep. JM then got up and bounced her on his knee for a little bit and off of a sudden a big ol' belch came out. He bounced her a little more and then put her back down and she didn't even fuss. She just fell asleep! Holy moly!
Sunday she acted a better and didn't have any sickness. I tried to take a nap but was only successful for 15 minutes. JM and Dad were both unsuccessfull deer hunting. I was able to get a little work done while Samantha slept for a 2 hours. I love her napping schedule now. Six months really was the turning point for her. She's always happy now and is just easier going. It has been so great to have no screaming fits unless something is wrong.
While there, Mom was playing Pat A Cake with Samantha and she LOVES it. She was giggling and getting all excited for it. I didn't have the flip video with me, so unfortunately no video exists.
Mom had ordered some clothes for Samantha from Old Navy. One thing is a pink fleece jacket with little ears. SO CUTE!! These baby clothes are just too much fun!
