The 12th Week of Sam

Since last Thursday:

This weekend we stayed around home, which was nice.  On Friday I rented movies in hopes that JM and I could have a lazy weekend together.  With his job it seems that by the time I make that though process, something comes up. He didn't get in until pretty late Friday night.  Saturday morning Jim got up and went into work but was home by 9:00 so we went with Sam and I to help the kids do the Kiddie Tractor Pull at the Brocton Summer Festivel.  It was hot... really hot ..Especially where we were at because there was no breeze.  Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa Keach had decided to come up.  Grandma took Sam back to their vehicle and turned the air on. Sam was in Heaven.  She got to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa AND she was able to get out of the heat.  The tractor pull took way longer than what I thought it would, but it went well.  Unfortunately I don't think Grandma and Grandpa got to watch the horse pulls that they originally came up to watch. =(
Saturday afternoon Jim went BACK to work and didn't get home until late.  Late enough that we didn't get to go back up to Brocton to the fish fry.  There went that "date night" too.
Sunday JM stayed inside and watched Sam while I got out and mowed the yard.  We worked in the garden a little bit together b/c Sam took a LONG afternoon nap.  That evening my family came up to have a little cookout.  We burned our big wood pile in the back yard earlier that evening so it was just right for hot dogs and smores.
On Friday Sam had started this dry cough.  JM and I blamed it on her trying to use her vocal chords more and it was tickling her throat.  Well, Monday I woke up to Sam having this really "wet" cough and sneezing.  uh oh.  I didn't really get nervous until I felt her chest rattle when she took a breathe in.  I called the doctor and they had us come in at 3:30 to make sure it wasn't in her lungs.  It wasn't.  Thank Goodness.  Dr. Ioffe gave me saline drops for her nose to keep it moist so it doesn't dry up and clog her nasal passages and good doses of Vic's.  As of Tuesday she's doing better.  She still has the cough and is kind of snotty but just not as bad.  She also acts like she feels a lot better.  Monday night though was not fun.  She woke herself up coughing and would kind of gasp for air at the end.  She just didn't sleep well.

Tuesday we headed out to State Convention with my 6 FFA Officers.  It's been a long day and tomorrow is going to be longer.  Yea! =)
