Starting Over

I've wanted to blog a few times over the past few weeks but when I thought about how far behind I was I started to dread it.  I wasn't really up for trying to backdate and it seemed wrong to just pick up like there wasn't a huge gap.  So after thinking about it today, I decided to start back up and just put in background stories as I go.  Sounds like a plan right?

Fantastic Weekend

Friday was a very interesting day b/c of the weather. We had severe storms headed our direction in the morning.  Our school decided to do an impromptu tornado drill 1st hour just in case we had bad weather later that day.  Well, we did it first hour and at the same time a nasty little storm came through so we kept the kids in the hallway for a little bit (10-15 minutes).  Then by the afternoon it was BEAUTIFUL out - 60's and sunny.  By that evening the cold weather had set in and I needed a jacket when I left school.  CRAZY!!!

Saturday, my mom and dad decided to come up and also my Grandpa & Grandma Keach.  They all were going to be here around lunch so we decided to meet in Paris.  We ate at the Paris Family Restaurant and it was really good.  At one point the waitress asked if she could take Samee's plate that had some salad on it.  I said yes, and Samee started making her "fretting" phrases and giving the waitress her frowny face. Oops.

Mom and Dad came to our house first and then drove over.  I told Samee that Nana and Grandpa were there so she was standing on her tip toes looking out the back door.  As soon as Mom got up on the back steps Samee took off and began to show off.  She handed Dad her baby doll and was "talking" the whole time.  When dad was talking with her and said baby Samee came over and pointed to my belly.  Holy moly! That is the first time she's really made it clear that she understands.  I talk to her every once in awhile about it but she never really shows that she understands but I guess she just didn't feel like letting us know that she knew.

My parents and grandparents came to our house after lunch and Samee thoroughly entertained them all.  Mom and brought this little foam craft packet that had eggs and then all kinds of stickers to put on them.  Great fun!  For the 24 hours she's been putting them on eggs and then on us and herself.  JM's arm had several sparkly eggs and flowers on them yesterday. =)

Samee fell asleep after my grandparents left so Mom followed me down to Kansas to have a guy work on my back break.  After replacing the pads something wasn't quite right.  He is my student's father and works on breaks over at Midas.  When we got them, he said it would only take 15 minutes so Mom and I ran into school so I could check on my incubating chicken eggs (no chicks) and then drove around town.  It was a quick and easy fix, which was great.  When we got back Samee and Dad were taing a nap. =)
Mom can't hardly handle Samee sleeping and it was almost 5 so we woke her up.  She wasn't exactly thrilled but I wanted to go to bed before midnight.  When she's like that she really doesn't leave my lap but that's ok. I enjoy the snuggle time!

On Sunday JM and I asked Jim (JM's dad) and Marcy if they wanted to watch Samee while we ran over to Terre Haute to do a little birthday shopping.  They of course loved to take her.  We dropped her off and she waved bye-bye to us and watched us walk to the car.  There for a few minutes she thought she was leaving with us.  Jim & Marcy have a huge toy room for all the grand kids so Samee was easily distracted.
We had a good time in Terre Haute.  Our first stop was Toys 'R' Us.  I had been trying to find How to Train your Dragon items but it was really looking like I was going to have to order them.  So before we went over I looked on their website and found out that they had Olivia toys.  PERFECT!  As we walk into the store JM says "You know, I just don't think this is a store we could EVER take her into." I giggled and agreed.  We found the Olivia stuff and chose a few items and as we were walking out of that aisle JM say the Yo Gabba Gabba plush characters that are several feet tall.  So of course we couldn't walk by those.  Sometimes I think WE shouldn't be allowed in there.  Oh well, she'll be on the moon with excitement when she opens them.  JM was already trying to "give her just one thing" before we got home today.  NO! lol
We ate at Ruby Tuesday's which was SO yummy!  We went at a perfect time b/c it was the very end of their lunch rush so there were hardly any people any there.  Nice and QUIET!
If you are in a town with a Sam's and you have a Sam's card, how can you NOT stop.  I also wanted to purchase one of their big pork loins b/c I have an ag teacher's meeting this week that I have to provide supper for.  While in there, we walked down the movie aisle and found the 2nd How to Train Your Dragon movie so of course we just HAD to get that.  JM also wanted to find a movie that WASN'T how to train your dragon...apparently he's a little tired of Hiccup and Toothless in the sleepy viking town of Berk.  We went with Alice in Wonderland (original) and finding Nemo.

When we picked up Samee, Marcy's daughters were there so we visited for awhile but needed to get Samee home for a nap.  Poor little girl didn't even make it the 20 minute drive home.  I carried her in and she stayed asleep until 5 when I woke her up.  She had about and hour and 1/2 nap, which is a little less then she's use to but once again I want to go to BEFORE midnight.
This evening we watched Alice in Wonderland.  She loved it... kind of.  It kind of upset her I guess.  I haven't seen it in forever so we made a "nest" and watched it together.  Alice does run into a lot of "troubles" and Samee does understand it.  I spent a lot of time "explaining" and saying "just wait, she'll be ok".  After it was over I really didn't think she was too crazy about it but after playing for awhile she went and got the case and wanted to watch it again.  Interesting.......    And once again she was kind of distressed when she fell down the hole and crying about not being able to get through the first door, etc.

We will see how much she requests it this week..  *sigh* our little movie buff ...  =)
