Mother's Day weekend started out with JM being "iffy" about going into work and was kind of "on call' waiting for one farmer to decide whether he was going to start farming. I needed to run to Terre Haute to purchase Mom and Grandma's presents. I knew what I wanted to get each of them, I just hadn't had the chance to go to T. Haute. Our weekends, this time of year are few and far between so I had been reluctant to go the 2 weekends before. Well, since JM wasn't sure about going into work, I took Samantha with me and also decided not to wait on him to hear from the farmer. I knew that if I waited around the Farmer would never call and I would have wasted half the morning just waiting. I also knew that if I went with him the farmer would call when we were over there and we would have to stop in the middle to run him back over to Marshall. I really wasn't interested in either scenerio so I decided to play it safe and just go. We went to Best Buy first and I purchased my first Kindle for mom. I had some money and a a gift card to Kohls and Samantha was acting like she felt really well, so off to Kohl's we went. Samantha loves the Kohl's carts because they have a deep bag "basket and then a kid seat on the front. I think she feels in charge of her ship when she rides in the front, looking out. I purchased several items, so it was a great shopping day and I was in and out in less than an hour.
Well, when you go to T. Haute it is really hard not to stop in at Sam's and pick up a few key items, like milk and fruit. It is just so much more afforadable, usually. When we walked into Sam's, Samantha started looking a little tired and maybe a little pale. I felt her and she felt warm. I almost panicked b/c just a few short days ago we were in the hospital. So I dosed her up with Tylenol and that really improved her mood, but she was still tired. However, the shopping was encroaching on her nap time. I quickly buzzed throug Sam's and to home we went!
JM didn't end up going into work and was mowing when we came home. Samantha went straight to bed for her afternoon nap. I decided to help mow, and push-mow the back yard.
Mom and Dad ended up not coming up that day. We had asked them to bring up the tiller attached to a lawn tractor to till our garden. I knew this would be one of the last weekends I would have a husband, so I wanted to make sure we got the garden in. We had purchased all of our plants and seeds a week or so ago so that when we WERE able to put the garden in we would have had a good selection when we purchased our stuff.
Sunday morning I woke up to Samantha's sweet little voice talking at me through her baby monitor. I got myself out of bed and did the normal "mom" stuff. Early that afternoon we had a late lunch with Grandpa & Grandma Keach and Mom & Dad at Richard's Farm. Later Mom and Dad came up with the mower with a tiller attached to it for our Garden. We visited all afternoon and later that evening put our Garden in. Samee rode around the yard with her Grandpa for a little bit. Her eyelids kept getting heavier and heavier and apparently she was starting to go limp. =) Our Garden is now all put in and now the job starts ...weeding, watering, and preventing the rabbits from treating it like their own personal buffet!
