Over the past week, Samee has not crawled ... at all. It is walking all the way. She also does not really want to be held to much anymore either. Just go, go, go, go, go!
This weekend we headed home Saturday morning. That afternoon we all went over to Effingham to see Nano. Samee Jo stayed in the waiting room and played with her cousins Wes, Greg, and Autumn. I was back with Nano so I didn't get to watch but apparently that played well with each other! So great! Samee was walking around the waiting room with toys in her hand and making her little jibber-jabber noises.
After the hospital visit, we went and ate at the Foxx's Den. They had incredible SLOW service which is brutal with an almost-one-year-old. Samee had a menu in front of her and Mom watched her "pick up food" from the menu picture and eat it. This little girl plays Pretend! Of course, we giggled and Mom started eating supper with her off of the menu pictures. SO CUTE!!
We have this gamer chair that is in an L-shape but has a curved bottom so it rocks. We have it leaned against the wall so she can't rock it all the way back. She LOVES this chair. Friday night I went out with the girls and JM said Samee would come over and get a snack. She would grab two of her little crunchie-cheeto's, take them to the chair, sit down and eat them, and then come back for more. A lot of evenings she will climb up on it, sit down and then propel herself out of it and then repeat. We are looking into purchasing a little recliner for her.
Also this week and this weekend she has started pulling things behind her. It started with my robe that I had draped over the arm of the couch. She held onto the robe string and walked in the other direction. The first few attempts were pretty funny because she would get to the end of the robe "string" and then kind of stumble backwards. She then did it with her blanket. She has also learned the game of "come get me" and loves it. She will get her blankey and drag it behind her and then look over her shoulder at her Daddy; Who of course obliges and plays the game. What makes it really funny is that when she know the game is "on" she just takes off and doesn't look back.
Today we went to church and Buffy, Marcas and Baby Emma sat in front of us. Buffy took Samee up in their row and let her play with Emma. Samee of course was pointing at Emma and I whispered "yea..baby..." and then Samee pointed at herself and then back at Emma. This little booger is smart..... She is making associations with many different things. When she wants cheerios she finds the box on the counter and will point at it and then at you OR at it and then her mouth!
On Saturday the weather was BEAUTIFUL on the East side of Mom & Dad's house, because the house was blocking the wind. Mom, JM, Samee and I sat out on the side deck and brought out Mom's patio set. Before we brought it out we were sitting on the stairs and Samee showed her Grandma how she went down them...on her bottom, just like Aunt Joy taught her! Then Samee just kind of took off across the yard. Then she looked back at us and kind of had a freaked out look on her face. She then touched the ground and made her confused face. I went and picked her up because I was afraid her little butt was getting wet. She was walking next to the deck steps and plopped down again. She did the same thing and JM realized that she didn't want to touch the ground. So then we made her get up on her own this time. She strained to lean forward to propel herself forward and upward. She made it with minimal touching... lol. Though over the course of the next 45 minutes, she came over the apprehensiveness.
Maybe the weekend play-by-play is out of order, but fun none-the-less.
