The First Post

Well, I succumbed to the whole blogging world. With having many family and friends that aren't "just down the road", it seems more necessary than not.

As some know, WE ARE PREGNANT! We go for our first appointment on September 1st, which just happens to be our 2nd year wedding anniversary. It will be a nice gift to be able to see our baby that day.

So an update on the first almost-three-months of prenancy. SICK - off and on. One Saturday when we were down at my parents' house, I was sick all day. Wow, is really all I have to say. If I had been at our home, I probably would have cried for my mommy. =) Mom and I ran to town to get supper for everyone else and we bought motion sickness bands called Sea Bands. AMAZING. An hour later I was able to eat a few breadsticks from Joe's pizza place. Now, any other time in my life I would swear that even on my death bed I would ask for Joe's breadsticks. Earlier on Saturday, I wanted nothing in my stomach (mainly because it definitely wasn't going to stay there).

Since then I have worn the bands almost religiously. There have been a few days though that even the bands didn't work. Six hour puking marathons just aren't my idea of having a good evening. I finally called the doctor for probably the 5th time and acted desperate. So they finally prescribed some "good stuff" for the puking marathons. I picked those up last Friday and thankfully haven't had to use them yet.

The school that I teach at went back last week. The first week went ok. Monday and Tuesday evening I was sick, but during the day I was ok. It has been "ok" in general - just tired in the evenings.

Overall being pregnant hasn't been to bad in general - not to many complaints - just marveling at the changes already.
