Saturday I picked up my kiddos from FFA camp. I LOVE that part of my job. They have all been bitten by the FFA bug and it's fantastic. They have great ideas to bring home and have made friends with almost every other kid that was there (roughly 300). The kids that attend camp always seem to have a greater appreciation for Ag teachers and just the system in general. They usually tend to be more of the leaders to - go figure - they just attended Illinois FFA LEADERSHIP camp.
Sunday we drove back down to Dad & Mom's. JM wanted to check his deer cameras. So we were lazy that morning and took our time getting down there. Mom fixed a FANTASTIC lunch. I told her she was channeling her inner Grandma. She fixed fried pork chops and then white gravy from the grease and of course mashed potatoes. Grandma Keach always does that with friend chicken. MMMMMMM....MMMMM... .Gooooood. =)
This coming week is going to be CRAZY! Today Samantha and I were up at 6 and headed up to Georgetown around 6:30 for the Section 18 FFA Fair. I had to help with the Cattle Show. The Heltsley family was there and kidnapped Samantha for awhile and were able to get her to sleep! They can kidnap anytime! On our way home, we stopped by and talked with Aunt Joy for a little bit and then went on through Paris to do a little Wal-Mart Shopping. Sam was pretty great, which was a little surprising. Last week she started teething badly again. The poor thing. I can just tell she is hurting. Actually today is the first day in probably 4 that I haven't given her pain reliever every 4-5 hours. She has had some today but not a lot.
Then this afternoon we have to go BACK to Paris for Samantha to receive her 4 month shots. Yea for us. I had to wait this long to do it (about 15 days late) b/c to get the shots at the doctor's office was EXPENSIVE and today it is only going to cost me $27. It was quite the "no-brainer".
Tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday we are packing for vacation.
Thursday evening is the set-up for the NWTF banquet in Newton. Friday night is the banquet. Saturday is a great friend's wedding and Sunday we leave for Montauk, MO. We will be in Montauk Sunday through Thursday. And then that Monday I start sscho...scchhooo.... schooolll. Wow that was rough to say. It almost hurt a little and sent a shudder down my spine. YUCKY!
I can't wait for the NWTF banquet. Samantha has a little camo dress and bow to wear. CUTE CUTE CUTE! If for some reason it doesn't fit I have two onesies. So either way... she will be sporting her camo.
Samee has been doing great with eating cereal. She has added peaches and applesauce to her fruit list. For lunch, I try to feed her a little cereal. She absolutely HATES the bottle. Starts getting mad when she even sees it. So I'm hoping by eating cereal at lunch it cuts down on how much she needs a bottle. She eats quite a bit more cereal for supper though. She LOVES peaches - JM hates them. He thinks that they are pretty putrid. They do have a funky smell to them, but I don't think they are too bad. She LOVES prunes. Talk about something that makes you want to vomit. However, I think prunes are going to be a "must". The cereal is creating a little havoc with her digestive system. I haven't fed her prunes in 3 days and we are now on day two of no dirty diapers. She ate quite a few prunes today for lunch though, so hopefully that gets things moving. I never guessed that my life would revolve around whether a baby had pooped or not, but Welcome to Motherhood. haha.
She has become a lot better at grasping things and gets better at it everyday. She loves to jibber-jabber and does it most of the morning and quite a bit in the evenings.
She is VERY interested in everyone's plate and tries to grab at forks or whatever may be in front of her. If it's going in your mouth she would really like it in hers too. Also when I feed her she actually opens her mouth up and leans forward a little. It's pretty cute when she does it. Kind of like a little baby bird.
I have pictures, but no time to post. Have to get to our shot appointment!
