Today was our 24 week appointment, but unfortunately I have no news. I arrived at the appointment and all the doctors were attending an emergency c-section so I had to turn around and go home. I was kind of curious as to how much weight we've put on in the last 4 weeks. I have really started to "swell". No more feeling a little chubby because there is definitely a nice round bump now. The kids at school will randomly say "Lookin' pretty pregnant today Mrs. Jenness" or "Hey Mrs. Jenness you look nice and pregnant today". At first it was a little hard to take these as compliments but they are and I love it.
She is starting to move around quite a bit (every day) but usually only in the evenings. Though sometimes I notice it during the day when I take a break from standing and I am sitting in my chair. She moves around very very low. At night you can almost feel her move from the outside which is so exciting for me. Jim has either been at work or has crashed for the night when she decides to make her big movements so he hasn't felt her yet. (He has taken on a management position and it he is working like a crazy man to get the fertilizer plant up and running) It is kind of nice to be able to say/ask "Hey JM, feel her?!". Sometimes I think it must be hard when you aren't the one carrying the baby.
It is weird to think that there is only 16 more weeks before she comes! There is so much to do! It is also hard to believe that I've been pregnant for 24 weeks. I am starting to feel the pregnancy more....tired joints and muscles, tripping, bad balance, heartburn, gigantic boobs, nesting, etc. Nothing horrible and definitely 10X better than the sickness during that 3rd month. I've been pretty consistent with walking in the evenings, either at school or at home, which hopefully keeps my lower back/pelvis/tailbone region from hurting anyworse. I love nothing more than crawling into my warm water bed at night......it feels so fantastic and it is calling my name now. =)
